Jonathan Essa.
Author. Filmmaker. Founder.
Jonathan Essa is the founder of AmericanPopNovelty LLC, with more than two decades of experience across creative production and media operations. His work spans advertising and branded content, educational video, accessibility production, original writing, and product development.
He began working with 2U in 2013 as a video editor and producer, managing its Kaltura media collection and producing and editing audio-described video. His responsibilities grew to include media migrations, captions and transcripts, quality assurance, and delivery workflows. Through 2U, his audio-description production and video editing work has included online AI courses for Harvard and MIT.
Publishing is the company’s primary business. Alongside its own titles, AmericanPopNovelty offers book production services for authors preparing their work for print and digital editions.
Jonathan also leads PopVault 4K and develops software under EssaPrime, bringing his interests in storytelling, production, and practical tools into one company.
